Road Safety Force: Teaching responsible driving habits to up and coming drivers

Breakout Description: 

This course will show health educators how to talk to pre-drivers about staying safe in a vehicle. Teachers will be armed with safe driving tips so they can talk to their students about not driving while texting, driving impaired, driving aggressively, and what to do if they feel uncomfortable in a vehicle with someone who is driving unsafe. The aim is to prepare future drivers with proper and safe driving habits.

Katie Marble


Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Community Health with Community Health Education emphasis from Utah Valley University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), is a child passenger safety passenger safety technician, and has an in-depth background in school health education. She was an EMT from 2009-2013 and became a Yoga Teacher in 2010.  Katie spent nine years in the Dental industry serving a variety of people, including those with disabilities, children, and other special needs. Katie views health and wellness as a way of life, as a learner, achiever, relator and developer.

Shelby Bodily



Shelby is an outreach educator for the Zero Fatalities program. After graduating from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science, she continued her education at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland earning a Master of Education. After working in the UK as a corporate trainer and training developer, she spent time teaching 10th grade Biology in the South Pacific. She is also a CPS certified technician. In her free time, she enjoys exercise and playing with her mini Australian Shepherd, Keiko.
